# Sports and Recreation

Aimed at all fitness levels and capabilities, Sports and Recreation can support your health and wellbeing and help you feel part of your University community. We offer a range of programmes for physical activity, sport, competitions and tournaments in our excellent facilities supported by our dedicated team of staff.

There are a variety of membership options (opens new window) at specially discounted prices. If you're living in University owned or managed halls and houses you already have discounted access to the Coventry University Sport Centre, so pay us a visit at any time.

# Disability Access

The Sport and Recreation Centre is fully accessible for wheelchair users. There is a ramp to the main entrance of the building along with a disabled entry gate and lift to the first floor. Our fitness Suite has a range of equipment and free weights with some machines specifically designed for disabled users

# Fitness Classes

Our Active Life program (opens new window) offers a substantial number of group exercise classes, all in modern surroundings with mirrored walls. With a range of both instructor-led and virtual classes, we offer cardio and toning classes such as Pilates, Boxercise, HIIT, Cycle, TRX, to dance fitness and flexibility programs such as Zumba and Yoga.

# Fitness Suite

The fitness suite is equipped with the latest Life Fitness machines, interactive cardio equipment, cable machines and free weights with dumbbells to 50kg. The suite is accessible to all members, with free induction and support from a qualified fitness instructor who is on hand to provide you with a personal training programme. You can guarantee each visit will be a safe and enjoyable one.

# The Sports Halls

Our purpose-built sports hall, with all the usual markings and fixtures, is the perfect place to get active. If you want to come along and play sport with your friends our halls are available to book 7-days a week, free of charge to our members. Equipment is also available for hire. Sports halls can be booked up to 6 days in advance by calling or visiting the Sport and Recreation centre.

# Active Outdoors

Located only 5 miles from the City Centre and easily accessible by car or bus, our outdoor facility based in Westwood Heath is an ideal place to enjoy a game of football, hockey, cricket, netball or rugby on our astro turf and pitches. Our range of activities suit everyone, so why not participate in recreational sport for enjoyment or, if you are more serious about your chosen sport, then we can help to improve your performance.

# The Place

At Westwood Heath, we also have The Place which is available to hire for meetings, conferences, corporate events or that special occasion.

# The Physiotherapy Clinic

We offer treatments to students, at reduced rates for members of the Sports Centre. Our staff specialise in sports injuries treatments, and focus on education along with management and rehabilitation advice.
