# Print student status letters

Student status letters are proof that you are enrolled on a course. They will show your dates of study, the name of your course and your mode of study (e.g. full time or part time).

You may need a student status letter when you:

  • Open a student bank account
  • Notify the Council of your student status (for council tax purposes)
  • Apply for a job
  • Arrange accommodation

If you are a full-time student, you can print letters yourself by following the steps below.

: If you are a Part-time, Erasmus or Pre-sessional English student, you will not be able to create your own letter online. Please email and ask for a letter or go to the Customer Experience team.

# Log in to Nova

Log in to Nova (opens new window) using your University username and password.

# Create a letter by completing the template

Select Letters and then Create Letter from the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the page. Use the drop-down menus to select the letter type (e.g. Bank letter). Once you have completed the information fields, you can 'Create Letter' and a preview will be generated.

You will be taken to a new page where you need to download the letter. Once downloaded, select the option to print.

: Student status letters should be printed in colour.
