# Find lost property
If you’ve lost something, we will try our best to help you find it.
# Retrace your steps
Go to the building where you last remember having your lost item. Check the areas that you used in that building. If you don’t have access to a room, the Info Point team can help you.
# Check if your lost property has been handed in
Lost property is usually given to the InfoPoint nearest to where the item is found. We will store it securely for 1 week before taking it to central lost property in the Alan Berry building (next to the Hub).
Sometimes items are handed directly to central lost property so you will need to check both places. (If you find lost property – you can either take it to an Info Point or central lost property).
Valuable items like keys, wallets, purses, mobile phones and laptops will only be kept at InfoPoints for a short time. Central lost property will be called and asked to collect these items as soon as possible.
All USB sticks that are handed in will be sent directly to central lost property – The Info Point team are not able to store or return them.
# Claim your lost property
Make sure you bring some proof of identity with you when claiming your lost property (you can use your Student ID card). You will be asked to describe the item and then, if we can locate it, you just need sign a lost property form.
# Go to Central Lost Property
If we can’t find your lost item at the Info Points, go to central lost property.
