# Find lost property
If you have lost something, we will try our best to help you find it.
# Retrace your steps
Go to the building where you last remember having your lost item. Check the areas that you used in that building. If you don’t have access to a room, the Customer Experience team can help you.
# Check if your lost property has been handed in
All lost property is taken to the Customer Experience team desk. We will store it securely there for 2 weeks before taking it to central lost property in the Alan Berry building (next to the Hub).
Valuable items like keys, wallets, purses, mobile phones and laptops will only be kept for a short time. Central lost property will be called and asked to collect these items as soon as possible.
All USB sticks that are handed in will be sent directly to central lost property – The Customer Experience team are not able to store or return them. Please make sure that you save work on your OneDrive to avoid losing work.
# Claim your lost property
Make sure you bring some proof of identity with you when claiming your lost property (you can use your Student ID card). You will be asked to describe the item and then, if we can locate it, you just need sign a lost property form.
# Go to Central Lost Property
If we can’t find your lost item, go to Central Lost Property in the Alan Berry building.
