# Check your attendance record in Nova
Follow the steps below to see how you can check your attendance record in Nova.
# Log in to Nova
Use your CU username and password to log in to Nova (opens new window). In the Navigation menu (on the left hand side of the page), select Attendance and then My Attendance.
# Check your attendance record
Your attendance is shown as a percentage for the Year and Semester. Below this, there is a log of all the teaching sessions on your timetable. It shows the module code, time and date of each taught session. The status will indicate if you were On Time or Absent. (Make sure you scan your student ID card on the Touchpoint machine at the start of each class to get On Time status).
You need to scan your card on the Touchpoint machine up to 10 minutes before or up to 10 minutes after the class starts (so you have a 20 minute timeframe to show as On Time).
# Contact the Student Engagement Centre
To speak to someone about your attendance record, you can contact the Student Engagement team. If you are an international student on a student visa, and you are concerned about your attendance record, go to the Student Centre to speak to the International Student Compliance (ISC) team or email ISC.reg@coventry.ac.uk.
# Ask a lecturer to update your attendance
If you think that your attendance has been recorded incorrectly (because you have forgotten or lost your student ID card), you can email the lecturer and ask them to verify your attendance and update the record manually. You will need to provide:
- Your name / student ID number
- Module code
- Date / Time of session
If your student ID card is lost, broken or has been stolen, you will need to replace your ID card as soon as possible to make sure you continue to record your attendance.
