# Celebrate the Winter Break on campus
More students will be spending the winter break on campus this year. We want to help bring people together and create a sense of community over the festive period. If you are planning to spend the winter break on campus - either by choice or because of current circumstances relating to the COVID-19 pandemic - we want you to feel safe and connected.
# Events and activities
There are lots of virtual and socially distanced activities and events available to help you enjoy the festive period on campus. Check out our upcoming events (opens new window) and join in with a seasonal get together.
The Library is open every day over the winter break, except for Christmas Day (25 December). You can still borrow books and get advice from our staff about your studies. We have also organised:
- heritage walking tours (opens new window) through Google Earth from 18 December – 6 January;
- an online Library Christmas Celebration party (opens new window) on 17 December, where you can bring drinks, festive food and take part in a quiz;
- a Christmas reading list (opens new window) including some great seasonal fiction for you to enjoy;
- the Lanchester Sketchclub (opens new window), where you can get creative and produce a drawing or sketch inspired by the Lanchester Archive. Take a look at last month's sketches (opens new window) for inspiration!

# Stay Active
The Coventry University Gym is now closed to physical activities due to Tier 4 restrictions but all members (and non-members on a free trial) can continue to access 1000s of virtual fitness classes.
Non-gym members can sign up for a free trial (opens new window) and attend virtual classes from 19 December - 5 January.
# Stay Connected
We know that this time of year can be difficult, especially if you are not able to see your loved ones. It is important to keep in contact with friends, family or support services at the University. Check our Connections Matters page (opens new window) for lots of ways you can stay in touch and connected whilst on campus.
# Speak to someone
If you are struggling, there will be someone you can talk to online, by telephone or on campus (opens new window) every day over the winter break. We are here for a friendly chat or to help you get support if you need it (opens new window).
# Stay Safe
# Get the SafeZone App
You can now download a free app that promotes safety across our campuses. SafeZone (opens new window) - available from the App Store (opens new window) and Google Play (opens new window) - enables you to call for help and assistance when you need it, wherever you are on campus. It also let's us send you notifications with real-time safety advice and information.
